Today, having the best camping knife can be the key to staying alive in a world where violence and turmoil are rampant. Add to that government’s failure in doing little to stem both. When disaster strikes, you are often left on your own without basic services and even police protection. Add to that the drive to prevent you to protecting yourself and even penalizing you for attempting to obtain the tools to do it yourself.
Authorities are frowning on Prepping, learning camping, and survival skills, as they want you to stay dependent on the dole. They are happy that the ranks of people signing up for social services have skyrocketed. This allows them to take more control of your life and yet leave you hanging when you need help the most.

Kirchhoff is known for making some excellent knives. This knife is no exception as it does the job that you need admirably and the assisted opening works smoothly and silently. This reviewer has used it in the field for not only fishing purposes. Also for cutting cordage for securing tents and other chores that, need doing. However, for some reason, the black coating on the blade does not seem to be as permanent as the rest of the knife. Within a few short months, mine started to fade.
This was no problem, as my local Knife Smith was able to anodize the blade in a more permanent manner that keeps the blade from being exposed to the elements.
This was the only downside this reviewer noted, however, it was a bit of a disappointment as the other Kershaw of knives in this reviewer’s collection have been used in the field for a number of years under various conditions and still keep their original finish.
So, overall, this is the best camping knife and with a little revamping of the final finish, processing could someday become a great one.
